Always-First-API
ExitedNews Platform Backend
Overview
A high-performance backend API that replaced legacy WordPress REST APIs, achieving a 10x improvement in response times with custom services, caching, and CDN integration.
The Problem
News platforms relied on default WordPress REST APIs with 3-5 second response times, heavy payloads, no caching, and poor mobile performance.
What I Built
- Custom RESTful API layer replacing all WordPress default endpoints with lean payloads
- Multi-layer caching implementation with invalidation triggers on content updates
- CDN integration for global content distribution and edge caching
- Mobile-optimized responses with pagination and lazy-loading support
- SEO-friendly response structures for web crawlers
Key Highlights
10x API response time improvement (3-5s → 200-300ms)
Replaced legacy WordPress APIs with custom RESTful services
Multi-layer caching and CDN integration for global delivery
